I joined ISTS after a decade as a molecular biologist pursuing academic scientific research focused on renal pathology and colon cancer. I was looking for a career that offered greater work-life balance while still allowing me to support and advance education, and ISTS provided that opportunity. My passion for science has never wavered – I earned my master’s degree while working full time – but I could not be happier with my decision to bring my experience to this organization.
Today, as a Program Administrator, I collaborate with sponsors to strengthen their scholarship programs and drive growth and engagement. Because I spent many years on the student side of higher education, I bring empathy and firsthand perspective to my work. I understand how meaningful educational assistance can be and I value the opportunity to help clients create a positive experience for their applicants and recipients.
My path from scientific research to scholarship program administration reflects a consistent purpose: using curiosity, care and collaboration to expand educational opportunity.
